What do we do?
Screening:
All areas of developmental screenings are available, including infant monitoring.
Assessment:
Comprehensive developmental motor assessment including gross and fine motor skills, visual motor skills, perceptual skills, balance, range of motion and muscle strength. Comprehensive speech and language evaluation addressing receptive and expressive skills including articulation, language, voice, fluency and pragmatics, nonverbal assessment and screening for educational concerns. Assessment of sensory integration systems. Orthopedic evaluation including wheelchair mobility, Activity of Daily Living, functional assessment and adaptive equipment needs. Comprehensive assessment of orthotic needs including casting for Dynamic ankle Foot Orthotics (DAFO's)
Referrals:
The client referred to physical therapy may be disabled or delayed by illness, accident, birth defect or complications. This may result in the client having abnormal muscle tone, impaired balance, decreased functional movement, weakness or poor coordination.
Intervention:
Direct one on one therapy including early intervention, parent training, home programs and school consultations. In home services available under some circumstances. Inter-disciplinary approach utilizing motor and language goals to encompass all goal areas.
